Though the album is presented as if it were a remix-album (and in fact it also ís), the basic track is not taken from a previous release from Bruno Sanfilippo‘s extensive discography.
The title track and opener of Upon Contact Reworked is a new composition which is the basis for further reworks, reconstructions and remixes by different artists.

Multicast Dynamics‘s Scape and Aquatic System are the first half of a quadrilogy that will be completed with another two albums later.
The album series move from an evolutionary to a cosmological scale: starting from dry land filled with light and streams, to the constantly changing surface of the oceans, into a frozen and murky underwater world, finally up to the arrival in an interstellar space and the cosmos.
This first half of the full project set a high bar for the remaining two releases of the series, but I am really very confident that this set will become a landmark in conceptual environmental ambient music.
After walking with Alessio Ballerini through the region of Marche, Italy, we take a detour via outer space listening to Opollo and Sphäre Sechs, to finally land in Mexico feeling the winds from the mountains with Macheteoxidado.
Two beautifully dark releases by Haarvöl and Norn, deep droning soundscapes from Ionosphere to help you watch the world pass into endless night – and finally Elian‘s razor sharp electronic noisescapes as a counterpoint to the preceding quiescence….
It’s probably best to keep awake and try not to fall asleep to the dreamy ambience of this month’s DreamScenes selection.
Because if you do, you’ll miss the rather weird operatic intermissions by We Like We and the timeless deconstruction of Irish Airs by Fovea Hex.
And the very special – and possibly somewhat unexpeced – track from Efrén Lopéz, of which the chours is the cry of alarm that the Cathars used in the 12th century:

Xerrox Vol. 3 is the third part (duh!) in what is going to be a five part series inspired by the process of copying.
All three parts have their subtitle: “Old World” (Xerrox Vol. 1, 2007), “New World” (Xerrox Vol. 2, 2009) – and now Vol. 3 is labeled: “Towards Space” .
This mix is made to be published in the excellent series of mixes on the “Sounds of a Tired City”, part of the larger website with the same name.
It is published exactly on its first year’s anniversary, so it’s in fact a birthday present too!
Inspired by the site name, I decided I wanted to try to create a sonic ‘walk’ through a ‘tired’ city.
A mix with a lot of scene changes… like walking through an unknown city on a (quiet sunday?) morning – finding hidden surprises and marvels around every corner..
