In this May edition of DreamScenes, you can expect a bit of contemporary classical, a bit of piano, a bit of jazz , some drones and (of course) some ambient soundscapes too, to bring you a small hour of quiet (when needed).
The April DreamScenes edition features a collection of fine tracks from recent releases – meandering from ambient dreamscapes to abstract expressionism to jazzy modern classical, overtone throat singing suites and distorted choirs…
All in one night’s dream….
March 2017 DreamScenes edition: Music for the End of Winter ……
Music for the last days of Winter……
The february DreamScenes edition may feel darker than usual.
Possibly due to the dark winter days or, who knows, the general darkness of current times.
But don’t worry: there’s a sweet surprise at the end. So keep listening!
Let’s kick off a brand new year of monthly DreamScenes with a selection to tickle your inner eyelids.
A selection to induce a variety of images: some movie/series/game soundtrack tracks, a bit of drone, post-classical piano, and some pieces that are a bit harder to classify.
DreamScenes usually only features new releases, but this month I want to start with an exception in remembrance of Pauline Oliveros.
Among many other things, she will be remembered for her Deep Listening concept.
Concluding this edition with a track by Mario Batkoviç that feels like a (probably unintended) tribute to Oliveros.
In-between, there’s many other things (… and also many strings).
I guess it’s because of the dark season… Somewhat different from the usual DreamScenes selection, this edition contains five (!) vocal tracks, and some acoustic (guitar-)oriented tracks.
So it seems this edition is somewhat more ‘pop-oriented’.
Still, there’s this genuine ‘ambient’ feel… a ‘late night’ session, if you wish.
So: light up the candles, sit back and enjoy November’s DreamScenes selection.
I have enjoyed a holiday in September, so I had to skip last month’s DreamScenes edition.
To compensate for the immeasurable grief this must have caused, ánd to celebrate the start of autumn, this edition is a twice as long as usual.
So I hope you’ll enjoy these two hours of new (and relatively new) music to make you float away into your daydream…
